Written critics: Er ist kleiner und leichter als sein Wurfbruder 578, auch in den Knochen. Die Augen sind dunkler als bei 578. Die Ohren sind einwandfrei, Gebiß ist gut, zwei untere Frontzähne beißen vor. Ich möchte an dieser Stelle gleich - mehrfache Anfragen beantwortend - betonen, daß man das nicht "Vorbeißer" nennen kann: erst wenn die gesamten unteren Frontzähne vor den oberen stehen, handelt es sich um "Vorbiß". Das Vorbeißen der zwei mittleren unteren Frontzähne ist eine bei allen großen Rassen und besonders beim Neufundländer häufige und nicht fehlerhafte Erscheinung, sie zeigt keine Neigung, sich in der Vererbung gesteigert zu zeigen und qualifiziert schon dadurch nicht als eigentlicher Stellungsfehler.
